Let me tell you a little bit about myself….
I am a 59 year old travel broker, with 37 years travel industry experience, working from my home in Orakei, Auckland. I specialise in all facets of travel for all age groups but my particular interest is in soft eco/adventure tours for groups and individuals.
Apart from soft/eco adventure travel I am also highly experienced on all forms of travel such as holiday packages, cruises, competitive airfares, coach tours etc plus a huge in-depth knowledge on all destinations and worldwide cruising. Really I can sell everything!
I have my own branded soft adventure/eco tour company called Project:Expeditions, which was formed in 1983. During the last 29 years there have been over 60 successful tours to Far East Asia, Central Asia, Australia, Africa, India, the Middle East and South America and with wonderful tour escorts like retired Professor Joan Robb, Dr Don Merton, Ruud Kleinpaste and Rod Morris to name a few. Most of the groups are between 10-16 participants although small groups of 6-8 participants are not uncommon.
I particular I have a soft spot for Samoa and will put links to both my Project Expeditions and Samoa websites here soon.
For those interested in my working history, I started in the travel industry 1972 and between 1978 – 1982 I worked overseas in travel in a variety of interesting locations. Initially in London before taking up a 12 month contract in Saudi Arabia as an Operations Manager establishing the first European managed and staffed travel chain. Following this, I spent 6 months in the UAE overseeing a management and staff restructure of a large retail travel agency before I joined an international travel task force to China to assist the newly formed government (after Madam Mao’s ‘Gang of Four’ regime) set up what is today’s foundation of their inbound travel industry. I returned to Europe and worked in Switzerland for a year for a hotel and restaurateur management group based in Zurich before returning to New Zealand in 1982.
In my 39 years of travel I have visited over 80 countries and therefore have accrued a wealth of travel knowledge. I invite you to contact me with any of your travel plans and to see the world as I have experienced it.
